General Description:
The green emerald boa, also known as the emerald tree boa (and not to be confused with the almost identical looking green tree python) is a brilliantly green coloured snake found in the rainforests of South America. They are non-venomous, and when compared to other non-venomous snakes, probably have the longest teeth of any snake. They are nocturnal, arboreal, and primarily feed on small mammals, though they will also take birds, amphibians and reptiles. They have a prehensile tail that enables them to grab at branches as necessary, and use their striking colouring to camouflage exceptionally well in foliage. They catch their prey relying on a combination of this camouflage, and a quick lunge.
